The STRONG RPG is Symmetric (balanced character options, even when considering spellcasters), Terse (uses the same dice mechanic for every roll), Reliable (behaves the same at all levels of play), Open License (the core rules are free!), has No Classes (mix and match all options), and is Generic (suitable for a wide variety of fantasy settings).

However, STRONG RPG is not a rules-lite system. In this 127-page book, you’ll discover rules that are both simple and comprehensive. We’ve also included support for 21 common character archetypes, but in this system, you’re never constrained to any particular class.
