Loryn’s Timber and the Direlands release!

Imagine a place where dire beasts stalk the plains of giants underneath the shadow of the great Tarrasque, a place where villages exist on the fringes of a mysterious forest with dark monsters of its own, including gnome-sized vamplings. This regional setting book describes such a place: Loryn’s Timber and the Direlands, regions located in Djorde, a tabletop RPG setting. As a flexible, system-agnostic setting, this region of Djorde is designed to work with most fantasy-based RPG systems, including 5e, PF2e, and STRONG RPG.

Inside this 304-page book, you’ll discover:

  • Descriptions of eight major nations, including Drakeir, whose vampiric leader has not shown his face in decades; Kurre, whose bird-like inhabitants ride gliders to villages on mountain peaks; Tarras, a land of barbarians who follow the Wedded Warlords and must keep the Tarrasque asleep at all costs; and Xallen, whose gnomish inhabitants construct illusory wonders
  • Eight unique organizations, including the Fallen, an organization led by a fallen angel whose adherents are former criminals that seek atonement for their misdeeds; Jesters of the Purple Rose, whose shadowy members infiltrate the highest rungs of society; the Mice, who rob the giant homes of the Nephilim; and the Ministers, who create atrocities to ostensibly build a stronger world
  • Eight unique religions, including the Emergents, who believe that gnomes arose into existence by sheer will; the Hawks, who dedicate their lives to combat; the Order of Accountability, which openly publishes the righteous acts of their members to inspire goodness in others; and the Pyldrel, who believe in the imminent destruction of the world in a Cleansing Flood.
  • Eight new monsters, including bloodlost, former warriors who delved too deeply into blood magic; dreambeasts, nightmarish creatures whose touch lulls their victim to sleep; illusics, sentient illusion magic that can consume the souls of their prey; and vamplings, gnome-sized vampires who pervade the woods of Loryn’s Timber
  • New forms of magic, such as Blood Magic and Arcane Creation
  • The history and culture of the region, including ancestries common in the region, holidays, shops, taverns, and types of ruins
  • Dozens of campaign sparks for the region, including those related to organizations, religions, nations, and the region as a whole
  • Dozens of locations to explore within the region’s wilderness
  • Eight major cities in the region, including descriptions of their districts, as well as hundreds of shops and taverns with associated NPCs
  • A sample adventure that takes place in this region, with adapted rules for STRONG RPG

In addition, you’ll also receive the following digital assets:

  • 120 blank maps, suitable for running Puzzle Groves and Nephilim Ruins dungeons
  • Large versions of all the setting maps from the book
  • 106 digital tokens for NPCs and ancestries mentioned in the book

Following are more detailed descriptions of both regions described in this book:

Loryn’s Timber: These woods are some of the oldest-growth forests in Djorde. Many of its groves remain unexplored, especially near the Farseen Lake, which some believe hides dangerous secrets. In the east, vamplings and werewolves stalk the forests, and the First Vampire may sometimes be seen riding an ancient dragon above his home within Drakeir Manor. Many nations in Loryn’s Timber are magical in some way, whether engaged in wondrous item creation, such as Delinar, or illusion magic, as in Xallen.

Direlands: The home of gigantic beasts and endless plains, where the hunter-gatherers of Tarras and other nations make their living. In the northeastern corner of the Direlands lies the destroyed Orphion Empire, sacked by a Tarrasqui horde. On the western edges of the Direlands are the peaks of the White Mountains, where the avals of Kurre glide among the windy peaks.

We hope you enjoy this slice of our world!
